Fabrizio Reveals Man United Replacement For Eriksen As Agreement Edges Closer

Transfer Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United are looking at Portuguese and Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen this summer according to Football Transfer

Christian Eriksen is one of the names of Man Utd players who is expected to be moved on in the summer alongside Anthony Martial, Varane and possibly Marcus Rashford. Due to the Denmark international having been plagued by injury issues this season, United will undoubtedly call for his departure this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Portuguese Star João Gomes is the player who is being monitored by the United hierarchy to be recruited this summer.

“My information for the moment is that Gomes is being scouted by all top clubs in the Premier League, it’s something like 4-5 clubs,” Fabrizio Says…

“But Manchester United have not decided yet what they want to do in the midfield. It will be important to understand the board structure before and what’s going to happen with Casemiro and/or Eriksen to understand how Man United’s plan will evolve.

“So, while interest from top clubs in Gomes is there, at the moment it’s just scouting, and Man United have not decided their plans yet. It’s still early as having a new director in place will be crucial so they can finalize plans on who to target and how much to spend.”

Fabrizio Romano also recalled that Manchester City are set to clinch the signature of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of Manchester United.

The Premier League champions have decided to splash the cash on the 21-year-old England defender, who has been initially tracked by Manchester United rivals for quite some time.
